30.03.2022 | MAJOR DELAYS IN INTERRUPTIONS IN SHANGHAI

The city of Shanghai, China, has implemented a two-stage lock down in order to conduct Covid-19 testing of the entire population of the city. This has led to a lock down of the Pudong Side of the Huangpu River from March 28 to April 1, followed by a lock down of the Puxi side from April 1 to April 5.

Ports and terminals have closed loop operations so they can remain open, but trucking, warehousing, and some container depots have been impacted and are closed. Due to the closed loops, it is not possible for outsiders, such as third party surveyors to enter the terminals.

Especially trucking services to/from terminals in Shanghai are deeply affected. Further to that, many people are locked in their homes so operations in all aspects are expected to be slower. This will have an impact on ships waiting time for discharge or loading at port

Be aware that the situation changes every day, and that local lock downs can happen with short notice.
