Are you shipping to Australia or New Zealand?

The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (DAWR) has finalized the seasonal measures for the 2022-23 high risk season in Australia and New Zealand. Effective September 1, 2022 it is risk season of the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB). The BMSB is considered a hitchhiker pest that can spread via oceangoing vessels. They seek shelter from cold weather during winter season and find their way into equipment, vehicles, machinery and other types of cargo, meaning that most break-bulk cargo and containers have to be treated.

For the 2022–23 BMSB risk season, measures will apply to targeted goods manufactured in or shipped from target risk countries, that have been shipped between September 1 and April 30 (both days inclusive), and to vessels that berth, load, or tranship from target risk countries within the same period.

For information on berth prospects for the shipment in question, please consult your Martin Bencher
representative to check the routing.
